My name is Mireya Hernandez and I am a graduate of California State University, Monterey Bay. I received my B.A. Degree in Collaborative Health and Human Services (CHHS) with a concentration in Social Work.
My life experiences, values, and influences have all lead me to want to obtain a career in the social work field. I don’t think anyone is born into this world with genes pre determining what he or she will do with his or her lives. I think people develop and acquire their own unique skills over time. Individuals blossom into the persons they are meant to be. As for me, I am meant to be a Social Worker. I am most passionate about serving the underrepresented and underprivileged. I have cultivated a strong commitment and interest in empowering and motivating the needy population.
The CHHS major at CSUMB prepared me to become a successful professional by providing me with the necessary field experience, communication skills, and knowledge needed to excel in my occupation. My ePortfolio is a demonstration of my professional and academic work throughout my studies at California State University, Monterey Bay. The work included, are samples that substantiate my successful fulfillment of the Major Learning Outcomes required by the Collaborative Health and Human Services department.
